Tralala~ Did you all guess the photos correctly? *Drum roll* The first picture was taken in Japan and the latter in Korea! The photos look somewhat similar but if you stare hard at the first picture, you can see the traditional kind of Japanese housing. This is fun~ I should probably do a commentary for my yasumi in this format. Kidding.
Shall start off with Nihon first since I know Nihon da BEST! Hakone (箱根町) Hakone, a town outside Japan is home to one of Japan's most famous tourist attraction, Mount Fuji. After a 2-hour train ride from Shinjuku, we finally arrived at Hakone for our day trip. To reward ourselves for surviving the long ride, we had lunch at a traditional soba restaurant. Tempura Soba (Ah yes, when we eat tempura soba in Japan, you are only served with ONE pathetic prawn. But~~~~ the prawn is DARN good.) After lunch, we hopped on to this pirate ship for a ride down Lake Ashi. Lake Ashi. The crater lake (a lake that forms in a volcanic crater, caldera, or maar)is known for its views of Mount Fuji and its numerous hot springs. Weather in Hakone is generally colder than in Tokyo due to the mountains and lake. Yesh, 2 bimbos trying to look pretty even though we were freezing. Fuji-san (Mount Fuji) is the highest mountain in Japan at 3,776 m (12,388 ft). Eeepss.. Fuji-san is still considered an active volcano that last erupted in 1707–08. Kore nani? Onsen (An onsen (温泉) is a term for hot springs). If you stare hard enough, you can see extraction of sulphur activities for the construction of onsens. Onsen by definition use naturally hot water from geothermally heated springs and is believed to have healing powers derived from its mineral content. Ah omoshiroi (interesting) ne~ Heheh... I did my research before this entry ne~ I feel so knowledgeable. More to come.. |
